And before y’all get on my girl @JoyTaylorTalks here - she said the Bears could have *a chance* to make the playoffs this year but that shouldn’t be the *expectation* - and she’s right

@CarmieV I hope they do, I just don’t expect and really don’t see why that would be the expectation, it hasn’t happened in 13 years
@CarmieV @JoyTaylorTalks Before JF got traded “CW generational QB” “Fields can’t win” “Playoffs next year is a must “ “CW is worth more than a haul” After JF was traded “Temper expectations “ “QB needs to develop “ “Don’t expect playoffs” “We need yo trade back 9 for more picks” WTF
@CarmieV @JoyTaylorTalks Nah that’s getting book marked and she gonna get memed when the kid owns the division 😂
@CarmieV @JoyTaylorTalks Ha you're both getting muted
@CarmieV Playoffs should absolutely be the expectation. We were only a few mismanaged 4th quarter endings away last year. We beat the (NFC Championship Game bound) Lions once and realistically could’ve beat them twice, proving we can at least compete with other playoff teams. We won 4 of our last 6 games, and were close vs. the Browns. Our defense was dominating these last 6 games. Had we had Montez Sweat at the beginning of the season, and a more experienced offensive coordinator, we could’ve made the playoffs last year. The point here is not to redo the world with IF’s, but to show that these same conditions we have to begin the 2024 season are the ones that could’ve resulted in playoffs last year. Add to this a 2nd WR1, an improved running back room, and a somewhat improved OL. In all fairness, no one knows how Caleb Williams will adapt to the pros or how Shane Waldron’s offense will perform. But Poles and Flus have made these decisions because they trust these are both improvements over what we had last year. Waldron’s offense is expected to play better than Getsy’s from day 1. And although the reset at QB has more to do with finances and timing, the expectation is that Williams can come in and operate this offense from day 1 without being asked to carry the team on his shoulders, thus maximizing his chances of success. And what previous regimes did with their QBs or what previous coaches did have nothing to do. Poles and Flus can only control what they have right now. So yes, contrary to what @JoyTaylorTalks said, we should absolutely expect the Bears to make the playoffs this season.
@CarmieV @JoyTaylorTalks Baddie speaking nothing but facts
@CarmieV @JoyTaylorTalks Why not? That would have been my expectation with Fields? And this doesn’t mean falling short would be a drastic failure. But this is the part of the rebuild to expect a WC playoff berth. That’s the next step. And the year after would be a higher seed and at least one win
