Which includes choosing not to be vaccinated. It's your choice, but you can't expect people who are vaccinated and do support masks to be willing to lose THEIR choice to remain safe for you. It just doesn't work that way.

Whenever I hear the word #freedom, I remind myself that my rights and freedoms end where another person's begin. That is the only thing you ever need to remember. If your choice means choosing for others, it's not your choice.

@puneeta00 Someday, someone should suggest that mortgage approvals be based on rent payment history. People who could afford to buy homes are stuck renting because they have poor credit generally, but a decade of perfect rent payment history. They'd certainly pay their mortgage too.

@JeffTetz True. I think the seesaw of trying to go back to "normal" and then returning to the present is so much to blame. That's another thing that should have been made crystal clear. If we knew for sure that normal is not an option right now, we could focus on what's realistic.

@Daisy91554565 @Chuck_zw Yup. You can go to the border and demand your Charter rights, but the US won't admit you, so you'd be sent right back. It's an international border. You can't demand that other countries uphold Canadian laws. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/u…

@Daisy91554565 @Chuck_zw The bottom line is, the Canadian charter only applies in Canada. You could say you have a right to leave - but no other country is required to let you in. Pretty sure the US has said no, so you'd be turned around at the border anyway.

@JeffTetz That's probably mostly political. In trying to "soften the blow" governments have delivered murky messaging. They should have just told us the truth. Instead, we've been trying to read between lines and ferret out information on our own.

This is the part I don't understand. It's an international border. You can't cross without a passport, or if you don't meet the OTHER country's immigration requirements. That applied before Covid too. If the USA says no, no amount of convoys or protests in Canada will help.

@jkwaldie @kathleen_petty I wonder why they think they can dictate how they cross international borders though - or why they imagine that the Canadian government is the only factor here? You can't stand at the border, stamp your feet and hold your breath and just be allowed to cross - Covid or no Covid.
