Look how long the line stretches of asylum seekers, mostly Venezuelans. This is Piedras Negras, Mexico, where thousands are entering into Eagle Pass, Texas Help me get @elonmusk to see these videos before his visit to Eagle Pass, Texas.
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk 90% or more are not asylum eligible. The majority aren’t persecuted but want better jobs
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk I wouldn’t call these people “asylum seekers.” The majority come to Texas for better jobs, and to live a better life rather than living in a condition where they are not safe.
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk A way to stop this is for the US to stop sanctioning the governments it doesn't like and instead try to get on with them. This in turn will create more favourable conditions in these countries from which this number of people will not wish to flee.
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk Why was this land cleared with razor wire added? It looks way easier to get across compared to the way it was.
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk Socialism hasn't worked for Venezuela and other countries. Will America do it right, this time?
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk To seek asylum, they would have to come to a legal port of entry. That isn't one. Also, asylees from Venezuela should be seeking asylum in Mexico.
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk You don't know what's in there at all, we're not vetting at all.. It's a free for all now we're over helping other people protect their borders though
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk There are several safe countries between Venezuela and the US. By international treaty, asylees are required to stop in the first safe country they come to for asylum. These are economic migrants, not asylum seekers.
@CabelloAuden @elonmusk Thank for bringing this crisis to peoples attention.
