Someone tell Mother Nature we've had enough! We're now under a Flash Flood Watch (through Fri a.m.) due to more predicted "excessive" rainfall. Could also see severe storms tonight and again tomorrow aft/eve. When this finally passes.... here comes the heat again. Yay.

July 4th is coming! Many use fireworks as part of their celebration of our nation's birthday. While fireworks are fun for all ages, there are some limitations on when fireworks can be discharged, as well as what kinds of fireworks are allowed.
Please contact your city's City Hall with questions or for more info about the usage of fireworks within that city's limits. For questions about discharging fireworks in unincorporated areas of BuCo please contact Butler County Emergency Communications at 316-322-4398.
There are some variances on these permissions depending on where you live in Butler County as some cities have their own guidance on the usage of fireworks within their cities' limits.

We have been notified that Benton Township will be conducting road repairs and installing a culvert across SW 50th St Tuesday, June 16th. The road will be closed for approximately eight (8) hours to all traffic in the segment located between SW Tawakoni Rd and SW Tumbleweed Rd.
