Nobody ever said that these moral atrocities never happened. Nobody said that these areas weren't inhabited. Just that the population density is not great enough to justify claiming the entire area of land. You're making a moral point. I don't entirely disagree. However, how many people will get to prosper for generations to come as a result of that effort to turn the land into a civilized pocket of society? Exponentially more. I would readily conquer an island with the potential to hold 10000 people if only 100 people lay claim to that land. If they are are able to be taken over by a group of other people, what is stopping their own people from staging rebellions against each-other. What colonialism brings is a global standard based on might, bias, conviction, and hopes for a better future no matter what the cost is. You may not like that. That's fine. I do. I appreciate the pure greed of our ancestors to spread the Western standard of society and intellectualism. How many of those people would still be living primitive lifestyles if it were not for the efforts of the colonialists? How many of those people would be murdered as the result of their own in-group fighting, or even famine. The "But my people were here first and thus they control everything!" is a subjective moral argument. Not an objective one. I am willing to look past the atrocities of my ancestors during times when I was not even alive. I accept that imperfection as it served a greater purpose. Can you? Will you? Or will you simply whine about something that is out of your control for years to come?

If every so-called native had "the rights" to the entire landmass they inhabited, no progress would ever have been made, no countries would ever be formed, and many people would still be sacrificing babies today for luck.
