I love this idea. There's so much pressure on parents, many who can't afford it, to send their children into school in fancy costumes. The whole purpose of #WBD is to get books into the hands of children who may not own any, not to be the best dressed.

@BridgeBooksDro1 Great show on @RTEOne Wednesdays at 10:35pm ‘Book Club’. Simple concept. Book clubs gathered to talk about books. Really made me want to read. Like I keep saying. When I became a Mother. I stopped reading as much basically. No time. I looove a good book shop.
@BridgeBooksDro1 It's been our school's tradition to wear cosy clothes on WBD because a good story can feel like a hug. #keepitsimple #storytimeisEVERYTHING
@BridgeBooksDro1 Couldn’t agree more. Our kids’ primary school is having an event where parents can give in old costumes for others to use but this misses the point. Sourcing costumes in an unnecessary financial burden for some families struggling to pay for essentials.
@BridgeBooksDro1 What a brilliant idea!
@BridgeBooksDro1 I hated it when my son was in primary school, this is a much better idea, more inclusive!
