Between drawing of the gun and bullet is a drawing of a person depicted as being shot twice and bleeding. Below that was a drawing of a laughing emoji. Further down is writing “my life is useless” And “the world is dead” next to it. 4/
Charged suspect was removed from classroom with his backpack and parents called in. Suspect had by then altered the drawings. Crumbley parents were advised that they were required to get their son into counseling within 48hours. 5/
Both parents failed to ask their son if he had the gun with him or where his gun was located, and failed to search his backpack, where the gun was. Parents pushed back on idea of their son leaving school then. They left the high school without their son 6/
The 15yo charged in the Oxford High Shooting then went back to the classroom. After news of the shooting was reported, Jennifer Crumbley texted her son at 1:22p “Ethan, don’t do it”. At 1:37p James Crumbley reported to 911 that a gun was missing. Shooting occurred at 12:51 7/
Father James Crumbley in that 911 call also reported that his son may be the shooter. Gun was stored unlocked in a bedroom drawer. 8/

As a result of the findings, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald has charged parents James and Jennifer Crumbley with 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter in the Oxford High School Shooting. She would not comment whether or not they are in custody. 10/

Sheriff Bouchard seems to say on @CNN resources were to thin within his agency to surveil the parents of the 15yo suspect charged in the Oxford High School shooting. He says this is first time in his career of not being notified before charges announced.
