@JamesHeartfield @Another_Europe Absolutely no recognition either from this rag bag of democracy deniers, that Brexit won a mandate in 2016 (ref), 2017 and 2019 and that the choice now is a trade deal or WTO. This is all about their own comfort & nothing to do with rebuilding the Left as a credible future govt.

@AntonSpisak This analyst is very selective. The deal is thin, for sure. But from a UK perspective the goal of being outside the Aquis has been fully secured (except NI). Compared to May’s common rule book idea/ Labour’s dynamic alignment & CU membership; this is a massive UK negotiating win

@RichardGCorbett The key point is that our own trade secretary @trussliz @tradegovuk elected here and accountable to our own Parliament has now signed 58 of these trade agreements. Another power repatriated; £200 billion of trade protected. A sovereign #Brexit

@RhonddaBryant I think the gunboat story is ridiculous. But made worse by supposedly serious politicians fanning the flames by talking about the Royal Navy being used againt a NATO member. If the UK police arrest a French person breaking the law, we don’t say it is against an ally, do we?

@RichardGCorbett If this was really the case then they wouldn’t insist on a one way, unilateral, legally tight ratchet clause in a treaty. As with other FTAs they would agree to non-regression and an independent arbitration process. But they won’t agree to that, because they want vassalage.
