Maybe I am getting old... someone explain this rule to me? I mean its no biggie to me, and Jalen is on IR. Isn't Guyton #15 even if on IR? 🏈⚡️
@ChargersWin2022 Once you are on season ending IR, the number frees. If you have a designation to return, teams will save the number. It’s was put in place so teams don’t run into position number availability issues, which is less likely now that number flexibility has opened 0-49
@LACMasterBolt So contract has nothing to do with it? What happens next season?
@LACMasterBolt Meaning... who has to pick the new number?
@ChargersWin2022 I don’t think numbers are contracted to players. Like not explicitly given in a contract. Typically, it should go to the incumbent is my thought, but numbers are provided by the equipment manager. It’s up to him ultimately
@LACMasterBolt If Khalil is 52, and he goes on IR.... no one is getting 52 as long as he is a Charger. When he comes back the next year, he is still 52 Maybe I am not understanding it.... research time for Brian today lol
@Kcouch123 @ChargersWin2022 @LACMasterBolt This also is seen by almost every team in college currently. Same numbers on same team but diff side of ball
@BoltSkwad @Kcouch123 @ChargersWin2022 That’s because college football teams have over 100 players on their roster
