A person just refused to let me access a lift because of @GuideDogAva They kept shouting “allergic” so I made space for them to exit the lift but they wouldn’t? They refused, took the lift back upstairs & when I could finally use the lift the doors opened to a security guard 1/
The security guard said “do you have a certificate for that thing?” I said she is a guide dog as clearly indicated by her harness. I stated the law. He again demanded a certificate & I said that no such thing exists in law. Surprisingly when I started filming he said “ok” 2/
@BlondeHistorian @jadesharp1992 @GuideDogAva I don’t know how you do it Amy. If anyone referred to Sparky as “That thing” they’d get a dry slap.
@BlondeHistorian @GuideDogAva I'm horrified on your behalf. I hope it doesn't happen often.
@BlondeHistorian @GuideDogAva Sounds like that person was allergic to respect and good manners rather than Ava.
@BlondeHistorian @GuideDogAva That is ridiculous. My elementary aged children both know about service dogs, and the rules that go with them.
@BlondeHistorian @criptheirvote @GuideDogAva It amazes me that people are still so ignorant to the law. Contrast that with being in NYC where people take their dogs into pretty much everywhere. There was a dog in a stroller in Aldi the other day.
