@BlackWomansLat Don't assume ur ideas/words have already been said and done. Don't be so hard on yourself, try to be less critical of ur creative process and content. I am still learning to let go of my own judgement and allow my creativity to take over.
Do not let anyone change your voice. They will tell you not to use “y’all” and “finna” or “smack teeth” in your writing... DO IT ANYWAY

inspiration: ideas used to pop in my head, but nowadays, writing spells are so scarce i have to burn the midnight candle if i get an idea in that moment. i should probably pick up the War of Art again.
i actually asked a good friend about this not too long ago. she told me to write the scene i wanted and expand out if there was still a desire to afterward. i also don’t let myself edit until i’m done, otherwise i get caught up in details rather than the whole story.

Hmm good question. If I’m feeling uninspired, I’ll pick up one of my unfinished short stories that I forgot about, that’s usually enough to spark some creativity. Another thing I do is browse google images for random photos and if any catch my attention, I tend to write about it.
