The small vein post-Crisis to Knightfall of Vertigo-adjacent Batman is so, so goddamn good for Bruce’s characterization and voice. A near-phantom of late Bronze Age regality almost mournfully rising to meet Year One’s brutality and grit. An ideal for me.
