Today we’re shipping Laguna M.1 and Laguna XS.2 – our first public models. We’re also shipping our agent harness and a preview product experience. Both models were trained from scratch on our own stack: data pipelines, training infrastructure, and agent RL.
If you've ever wondered what Poolside was up to... They've been cooking! They just released Laguna XS and M, their first ever public models, on Hugging Face: - Two coder models: one is 225B params, of which 23B active, the other is 33B-3A. - hybrid attention: global v. sliding window in a 3:1 ratio - kv cache quantized in FP8 - SOTA results, on par with Qwen-3.5! - apache 2.0 (so a real open-weights) They also released pool, their CLI coding agent. With this performance, Poolside just entered the big game. Congrats, huge release!

Today @poolsideai is releasing Laguna M.1 & Laguna XS.2, our latest generation models and first public models We started Poolside because we believed that to build truly capable coding agents, you need to own the full stack: data, training, reinforcement learning, inference. These models are the first result of that work, and we’re making them available to everyone
Laguna M.1 and XS.2 are out today. So proud of the work from @poolsideai end to end, a lot of passion and craft went into these. One thing I’m especially excited about is getting real feedback from the broader community now that the work is public.
