The discourse on regionals has shifted greatly on this app. But Twitter isn't real life. College hockey coaches have supported neutral sites, especially those out east because they work there. Feels like it's only a matter of time until it's home sites.
@Biddco There’s more support among coaches around the country for this change than there’s been in a long time. In this case, twitter is more real life than you think.
@Biddco There isn't a perfect answer. However I would love to see the top 4 seeds host the 4 team quarterfinals in their home barns. Top 8 hosting the bottom 8 for a single game seems anticlimactic...
@Biddco BU coach recently said something in support of campus sites, "if it's the right model". I think the issue right now is the 2 conferences that would be 100% for it are the two "smallest" conferences by members. Maybe if hockey east gets on board that's a tipping point.
@Biddco I am a fan of many sports, so I find it very interesting that I have been watching some of the women’s basketball NCAA games and those are all at home, on campus, arenas. Same with volleyball. Makes no sense that hockey “leaders” can’t figure it out
@Biddco I think what needs to be criticized more than the format is simply the arena choice. Lots of people on this app complaining about “being punished for x or y game result” when in reality, your fate doesn’t come down to one game, rather a culmination of an entire season.
@Biddco I just don’t understand the idea of putting a Regional in a practice rink.
