Cynthia Williams is out at WotC, which begs the question: If you were hired as the new CEO, what would you do to right the ship of game and sail us all to safer waters? readingdndaloud.libsyn.com/how-would-you-…
That's easy - fire all the dead wood. Start making making adventures gamers like and will actually buy. But as Gary Gygax once said: "If they figure out they don't need our books to play the game were ruined. (paraphrasing)" No one needs WOTC anymore because you can DIY everything and make your own games.
@BenRiggs_ There's a lot to say to this. Bring back the different settings. D&D is a framework for games and not just a single setting... Also I would run fan made sessions on official sites with the fan getting credit, and paid, for the content. Thus bringing fans back into the game.
@BenRiggs_ 3.5 released in creative commons. All "legacy" content that is "no longer supported" goes to creative commons, barring specific trademarks. Basically retcon out 90% of the 5E content post-TCE. Errata the 5e books & restore removed content/styles. Force crawford to be consistent
@BenRiggs_ My immensely complex 3-step plan: 1. Hire good people. 2. Pay a fair wage. 3. Treat them with respect.
@BenRiggs_ I'd start publishing things for people who actually like the game, rather than for people who hate it.
@BenRiggs_ Easy: 1. Fire the woke cult. 2. Launch 6th Edition (which is really 3.5 remastered) 3. Campaign settings are back. 4. OGL valid in full force.
@BenRiggs_ In no order: scrap the DEI bullshit that has infected the game. sexy chainmail bikini art beefcake art campaign and source books that actually has consequences and actual feats for players to make their classes worthwhile instead of just different flavors of the same Bullshit
@BenRiggs_ Just make it pathfinder so the pathfinder crowd stops saying "just play pathfinder" when someone tweaks something in D&D
