Well we have been shortlisted for Club of the Year, what an achievement, looking forward to the awards night.

Saturday was our finals day. Novice winner Marie Jefferies against John Barnes. Ladies Singles winner Eileen Ferguson against Marie Jefferies. Mens singles winner John Evans against Paul Roach. Enjoyable games, relaxed lunch, spectators, good afternoon had by all.

@BowlsEngland Bowls Bash in full swing over the weekend at Begbrook Green Bowling Club. We had visitors Friday, Saturday and Monday. They all really enjoyed themselves and it was lovely to see relaxed faces and lots of laughter.

Bank holiday weekend and people booking in to try this new shortened game of bowls. We like to start them young at Begbrook.

The next new initiative at our club is becoming a Bowls Bash Club. This is a new casual game of bowls of 1 hour (more information to follow).So we invited friends over to our club to give the format ago.They had a good time and throughly enjoyed themselves.

Sunday Fun Day. The main competition was won by Mary O’Mahony and the Shamrocks. Runners up were the A Team led by last year’s winner Stuart James. The Plate was won by the Touchers and Kissers (Suzanne and family) and the runners up were Marie and her Unbelievabowls.

Last Sunday we had a fun day we’re members bought teams of non-members to play in a round robin competition. It appears everyone had a good time.

2nd day of Bowls Big Weekend. Yesterday a good number of people due to weather, people pre-booked and just turned up. Slightly quieter today but still successful. Already had emails saying people would like to return.

The time has arrived for our Bowls Big Weekend Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th. We have 3 sessions available 10.30-12.00, 12.30-2.00, 2.30 -4.00 why not come along and give it a try for free. We will be live on Radio Bristol 8.30ish. We would love to see you.

So it looks as though the weather is meant to be good for the weekend so why not book a slot on the Bowls Big Weekend.

We have been lucky enough to have had an article about the Bowls Big Weekend at our club put into 4 of our local freebie papers. We have already taken some bookings because of it. Interested it giving bowls a try get in touch.

What a lovely time we had at our annual indoor bowls weekend away. It was lovely to see new and old members attending. It was also a victory as we won a good number of our games. Thank you to all those that attended and most of all the organiser. 👏👏👏
