🚨New: Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant told Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Sunday that Israel has no choice but to respond to the unprecedented missile and drone attack launched by Iran over the weekend. My story on @axios axios.com/2024/04/15/isr…
@BarakRavid @axios They dont wanna project weakness, they need to respond harshly
@BarakRavid @axios that's a bummer, they just don't listen to anyone...
Please take the win, Israel. Wonderful that there were no casualties after this weekend's successful intercept. Now, think two steps ahead. If Israel hits Iran (again), Iran will likely respond (again). Embarking on a vengeance-fueled spiral of escalation will eventually lead to massive casualties. Better for everyone to de-escalate and maintain a defensive posture.
@BarakRavid @axios He has many choices. Had Iran attacked first, a response would be necessary. Iran didn't attack first. As it stands, Iran has sent its message not to attack its consulates, Israel has no major damage, mark it as a draw and move on. We dont want to fund his war.
@BarakRavid @axios of course they have to x.com/APbrooklyn29/s…

@BarakRavid @axios Is the U.S. gonna have to shell another billion to defend Israel again while Israel spends 1/10th of that? Did Austin remind Gallant that Israel started this with the embassy attack and wanted to instigate a conflict that draws America into the equation?
@BarakRavid @axios What do you think about this man ?
@BarakRavid @axios There are many choices!! Escalating the conflict should not be one of them
