Judas Iscariot is infamously known as being the guy who ratted out Jesus and sent him to his death on the cross. He’s so well-known that even people who know nothing about the biblical story still know that anyone who’s a traitor can be called a “Judas.” But if Judas is so notorious, then why don’t we know how he died? Jesus’ death is retold multiple times throughout the New Testament. Even the other apostles are described in their final moments. But Judas? Why does his death continue to be such a mystery? 1/2
@fasc1nate Most interesting to me is that Judas was necessary. Without Christ death, the prophecy was unfulfilled. For Christianity to exist, Judas or some betrayer had to exist. Also was impressive Jesus was so good at hiding He kept Rome and Jerusalem guessing until Judas.
@BWay124 @fasc1nate They found the place that he was hiding on the other side of the Jordan. Recent archeology, apparently very close to where John the Baptist had been doing his thing.
@BWay124 @fasc1nate Jesus didn't die. He rose to heaven
