The initial cost of a united Ireland would be at least €8bn (£6.86bn) a year rising to potentially €20bn (£17.15bn) a year, a new study from Dublin think tank @iiea has estimated bbc.in/3TNvla2
@BBCNewsNI @iiea So how much does it cost the UK?
@BBCNewsNI @iiea To not be part of the failing union of the UK. PRICELESS 🎉
@BBCNewsNI @iiea It’s probably accurate. But UK could provide a divorce settlement which reflects those figures and it would still be significantly less than they are forking out now
@BBCNewsNI @iiea Most sensible people know it's a terrible idea and would ruin us economically and socially.
@BBCNewsNI @iiea Northern Ireland will be grand and our neighbours in the RoI might want to use some of that money saved, for housing. All good.
@BBCNewsNI @iiea Why is there a think tank being paid to look at it?…….one wonders……..
@BBCNewsNI @iiea Worth every penny. The benefits will outweigh the initial outlay, Britain will have to fork out a good chunk which they will gladly do to finally rid itself.... The North will flourish in the end.
