Oh I get friend requests from annoying GFX artists trying to sell their shit all the time. It's usually people that you share "common" servers with. For example an official discord server for a game you like to play or a large streamer discord you're in. They're annoying, scum and should have been swallowed.

I agree that there's a monetary cost to maintain servers but what we're seeing with every MMO that uses a subscription model is that on top of that they also have a predatory ingame-shop. If you have no microtransactions, I can understand a subscription fee. If you have microtransactions, you should not have a subscription fee. Guild Wars 2 does it perfectly. It has an ingame-shop that is entirely cosmetic/convenience and in no way gives player power or unfair advantages. What does that tell us? That if you have a fair monetization, people are more ok with using your ingame shop. If you take World of Warcraft, for example, you pay $13 a month, and they give you an ingame-shop where you can buy things like character boosts which basically says "Yeah we know our leveling process in retail is boring as fuck, so for $60 you can skip that". Then there is a battle pass (yes the Trading Post is a Battle Pass, idc what anyone says) where you can't even obtain all rewards every month if you wanted to.

@LuckyGhostTV It used to be WoW, but lately i've gravitated away from WoW and been spending every day in Guild Wars 2, where my time is respected, I don't feel like I have to re-gear every 2 weeks and i dont have to pay money to play a game i already bought.

One difference. Guild Wars innovated the genre whereas World of Warcraft has only really changed from Wrath into Cata by just increasing the amount of mechanics in bossfights. WoW is still stuck in 2005 with many things. The Free Trial is a good example of this. World of Warcraft doesn't let you experience the good part of the game in their trial. Meanwhile Guild Wars 2 allows you to level all the way to max and experience the entirety of the base game without paying a dime. Dragonriding/Skyriding was a huge addition to WoW, guess what game that was yoinked from? Guild Wars 2 even beat WoW to Player Housing.

I'd agree with maybe half of this, and that's being generous. I think you miss out on the part that GW3 is not going to be a GW2 with a new name, it's going to play and feel different, just how GW2 is nothing like GW1. We might not even see Fractals, or WvW, and I'm fine with those being Guild Wars 2 things. I think by the looks of what you're requesting you just want Guild Wars 3 to be "World of Warcraft 2" and not a new guild wars game. Otherwise you'd lean into things that make sense, like leaning into GvG PVP (before the sinking of Orr there were 3 Guild Wars in the lore) Guild Wars never used the Holy Trinity system and that's what was the beauty of the game.

I never liked the whole debate of "Octane and Fennec are the best cars". The differences between cars and their hitboxes are so minimal. Gamers these days are min-maxing so much to the point where if an Octane would be able to make a turn 0.001s faster than a Fennec, they would say the Octane is the ideal car and the Fennec is trash. It's nice to see there's players out there that say "fuck you" to what people expect and play their own way.

London servers is a server located in London. Nowhere in the TOS does it say that players are required to talk english when they queue London servers. That's your own ridiculous expectation. You live in Europe, there's a large language barrier that even your Brexit brain should be capable of understanding. Not everyone is able to speak English. Not every country teaches people the english language. Maybe YOU should be the one learning how to make and understand basic callouts in other popular languages like french, german, spanish etc rather than expecting everyone to speak your language based on a fucking server location.
