The SNCASE SE.161 Languedoc was designed between the wars and entered service with Air France and the French military after World War II. France needed to revive its aeronautics industry and decided to produce an already obsolete aircraft. First flight 15 Dec 1939. Built 100.

In 1968, carrier trials for the General Dynamics F-111B were conducted aboard USS Coral Sea. The plane was a variant of the Air Force's F-111 Aardvark. It had been considered to fill Navy's need for a new interceptor but was deemed too heavy. The Grumman F-14 got the job.

The 4 engine Cessna Model 620 executive transport was the US manufacturer’s attempt to break into a new sales market. Despite flying well, its price of $375,000 was way too high at the time and the project was terminated. The first flight was on 11 August 1956. Only 1 was built.

An unwanted Vampire?🦇🧛♂️ The Vickers F.B.26 Vampire was evaluated as a fighter, however its handling was not thought to be good enough. It was then converted to the ground attack role, but was inferior to the Sopwith Salamander, already chosen for the role. Only four were built.
