BREAKING: Google says it has broken through a bottleneck that has held back quantum computing for 20 years. Quantum computers need special building blocks called "magic states" to run useful programs. They are so hard to make that up to 95% of a machine's capacity could go to making them. Google's new method cuts errors by about 40x on its Willow chip, with a record 99.99% accuracy. This is the first time a practical fix for this problem has worked on real hardware, according to Google's research published in Science today.

🚨WILD: A crypto scammer gets robbed of over 60 BTC worth $4.8 MILLION in the Ledger wallet theft. On September 22, the operator of a “task scam” moved the proceeds into three Ledger addresses. On October 9, thieves emptied all three, each in a single transfer to the same wallet. The scam paid people to fake sales and reviews of real items. They were then shown a “negative balance” and told to add their own money to get paid. The scammer was one of the biggest victims of the Ledger theft, per Chainalysis.

🚨This is scary. A hacker used the password “123456” to establish access into Denmark’s National Population Registry, exposing records of 8.8 MILLION people. The breach reportedly exploited an account at IT company Pays ApS, which had legitimate access to the registry. At least three company accounts allegedly used the same password, including an administrator account. The exposed information included names, addresses and personal identification numbers belonging to both living and deceased people. Authorities have confirmed the breach. Seems so that personal data is not safe anywhere, neither with governments nor with private firms.
