I'm not sure if I've shared this one. Such a stunning photo that kinds of tells the story of Lou Brock, the ballplayer. All it needs is the "pop up" after the slide. #STLCards #ForTheLou
@AugieNash Great photo. My mom worked with him in the day. A good and decent guy.
@AugieNash Sliding feet first. Lou never had a problem with infielders trying to block the bag. 🤣 I wonder why? 🤔 These new rules are ridiculous. ☹️
@AugieNash I remember in the late 60’s as a kid…I went to a game with my Dad. Cards against the Dodgers. Lou stole 2nd base…Maury Wills was at shortstop and helped helped Lou get to his feet and patted him on the back. Brock went on to beat Wills’ records for stolen bases in a season.
@AugieNash Wow!! As I’ve said before, my all time favorite player. Thanks so much!!
@AugieNash Even as a Cub fan Lou was my brother’s favorite player as a young kid in the Chicago area. That was even after Lou was traded by the Cubs to the Cards. My favorite all-time MLB pitcher is Bob Gibson as a lifelong Cub fan myself.
@AugieNash Wow! This is such an awesome picture! Thank you for sharing this!!
@AugieNash Do you have the photo of Lou after a slide with McCarver blocking the plate? Lou's fingers touching the plate. Ump in the background calling safe. McCarver turning his head & starting to argue. Great black & white pic! Saw it in a Cards yearbook from the late 70's.
