Ashoka University attaches great value to freedom of expression and vigorous debate, but it also attaches great importance to mutual respect. The university deplores expressions of hatred directed against any individual or group. Ashoka University's Guidelines on Protecting Freedom of Expression have clearly laid down that such freedom of expression is not unlimited and enjoins respect for the rights and sensibilities of others. This is essential to preserving the spirit of community at Ashoka. Actions that make the atmosphere intimidating, threatening or hostile to individuals or groups are therefore regarded as serious offences and are subject to University disciplinary procedure. The University will take all measures necessary to ensure that peace and harmony in the campus is not disturbed.
@AshokaUniv This is turning into another JNU. Ashoka University is JNU dressed in Gucci.
@AshokaUniv Spare us the word salad. Take action against ones that are spreading hatred towards certain castes in your campus
@AshokaUniv Writing hate slogans is “freedom of speech” Who told this ! Why administration can’t find the culprits? Article 19(a) liberty of thought, belief, and opinion. Yet, this freedom is not absolute. It is subject to reasonable restrictions for maintaining social order.
@AshokaUniv Why there is not single line apology towards those who got humiliated! Why there is not single line assurance that it will not get repeated? Your tweet is simply an approval of those who did this hater’s job. It’s unacceptable
@AshokaUniv Your message is just like the fence eating the crop. Instead of taking stringent action against accused, you’re just defending them by pronouncing or quoting the values already envisaged in Indian Constitution. This is not we called as the fair action, it seems prejudice.
@AshokaUniv @TweetHelperBot Please Frame This Post
@AshokaUniv @prasannavishy We will be watching. Else will start a movement of boycotting your students and campus for further admissions. I hope you live up to your tweet.
@AshokaUniv Actions are taken not shown to be taken nor only sheer promises to take
@AshokaUniv Please take disciplinary action against those students who made casteist slogans ,same punishment should be as others get similar to SC/ST case.
