The sheer courage of the IHC judges has brought us to a March 2007 moment. From hereon, the dividing line will be between those in favour of restoring the justice system’s credibility, and those complicit in its suppression. The convention sought by the IHC’s 6 must be called.
@AsadRahim @Hammad_Azhar 2007 moment was also agencies backed. Silence and acceptance of open state fascism by lawyers right now proves that
@AsadRahim I think this will be brushed under the carpet
@AsadRahim at that moment Kayani was behind the movement thus it succeded, now all players are on same page, even CJs
@AsadRahim Lawyers will not agitate. There is no incentive for them to do so. Few TV programs & some optical posturing within bar associations is what we are going to see. In all Martial Laws, those judges who refused to side with dictator were shown the door. No one raised voice for them.
@AsadRahim What the IHC 6 judges have done is courageous and true to their calling. It is the insipid, divided & muted response from the society which is disappointing. This lukewarm reaction allows the other side to obfuscate the scene. No real leader to take the mantle and press on. Sad
@AsadRahim it sadly still wont translate into a much needed lawyers movement.
@AsadRahim Actually, this courage is brought up by the acquittal of Justice Siddiqui and Kazi Faez Issa becoming Chief Justice. These judges would have kept quiet if it was Justice Bandial or Saqib Nisar in place. They were servants of Generals. Kudos to Justice Siddiqui and Kazi Issa!
@AsadRahim But it won't be called and nothing will change. Har koi usi tanha par kam kare ga
