Q: "If the US and allies can help shoot down Iranian drones over Israel, why can't they do the same over Ukraine?" White House spox John Kirby: "Different conflicts, different airspace, different threat picture."
@Archer83Able @steven_seegel Makes no sense.
@Archer83Able Ukraine gave up their long-range strategic bombers and its nukes with the US guarantee of protection. Americans are reneging on this agreement #MOG8
@Archer83Able The true answer is simple: Joe Biden openly said he is Zionist, but never said he's Ukraineist.
This is a good answer--especially re “different airspace, different threat picture.” Israel geographically is a tiny country--as in really, really tiny. So defending Israel’s air space is qualitatively different from defending Ukraine’s air space. The crucial point is that Ukraine can defend its airspace if it is given adequate support by the US and other NATO countries. Kirby confirmed that the Administration remains committed to enabling it to do that. The only problem, as Kirby points out, is that House Rs have refused to give the help Ukraine needs to defend itself. It is clear from today’s developments, thankfully, that those days will soon be over. PS: I say all the above although I agree with the growing chorus of Israel’s critics. In fact, I believe that the first priority of US policy in the Middle East now is to get rid of Netanyahu.
@Archer83Able @BaddCompani Excellent response!
@Archer83Able Ukrainian twitter is annoying. Israeli twitter is not🤷♂️
@Archer83Able It’s the same conflict
