I'm seeing a ton of chatter about #Angels superstar Mike Trout not being clutch with RISP (runners in scoring position). Let's take a look. These are Trout's career stats with: RISP (Runners in scoring position) No one on --- Men on Base (Thread)... #RepTheHalo
This is a more granular breakdown of Mike Trout's career stats in clutch situations. As you can see, he's well above average but where Trout seems to struggle is late & close. Still has an .873 OPS in those situations which is very good. The BA is low however. #RepTheHalo
@AngelsWin It's clutch stats. 6th inning or later. Team down x runs. Men on base. With two outs. Like today. 2 run hr in late innings, down one run. Show me those stats.
@AngelsWin Let’s talk 2024: 1-12 with RISP 0-2 with the bases loaded 5-23 with runners on base Late inning pressure situations: 1-6 Short sample size that should revert back to the norm. But it does show this season, he’s been cold.
@AngelsWin It stands out so much because he struggles most when we need him most.
@AngelsWin Maybe, the comments I saw talked about being clutch. Meaning down by a run or tied. Big game or big game situations. Not RISP when up by 3+ etc
