Health insurance may be the biggest threat to small business owners. When I decided to dive in full time in 2017, insurance premiums were scary. Upwards of $2,000 a month for Obamacare at the time. We found a health sharing option that fit our families needs perfect for $600/mo Now it’s $801/mo (still a great deal) We tell the hospital that we are “self pay”. This leads to a discount of up to 40%. Then we submit everything to our health share and they pay the balance. 100% Oh yea, and our incidents only require $1000 out a pocket/yr (think of this as our ‘deductible’) My stroke visit ended up being over $40k. They gave a $16k discount.
@meetmikehiggins You need to be incredibly careful with healthshares if you have assets to lose. Your claims aren't legally guaranteed nor are healthshares regulated. They could very well be out of trust.
@Andymantweet @meetmikehiggins Exactly why I don't use them and just suck up the $1300/mo for my family. Just send a thank you card to Obama and the Democrats every year for the wonderful job they did...
@Andymantweet @meetmikehiggins This. Those healthshares are frequently going out of "business" or being investigated for fraud (often times before they are out of business).
