I see a lot of Packers draft discourse this morning and I’ll just say this - While there are a handful that deal in absolutes (clear sith behavior) the vast majority of Packers draft content is trying to help people understand the likely Packers picks - not say that anything is impossible. The truth is there are precious few first round players that hit everything the Packers have typically looked for. In all likelihood Green Bay will break at least one or two tendencies. And that’s totally fine! But I think those covering the Packers draft do a phenomenal job of identifying those tendencies with an effort of trying to help project who those likely picks are. It should be thought of more as a helpful guide than any sort of official draft board. And like I said yesterday - it’s all supposed to be in fun anyway. Enjoy the process!
It’s also incredibly important for those that track the tendencies to understand that we don’t have the full picture. The 40 time could be a 4.6 and the agility numbers at the combine may look horrible. But the Packers might have gps tracking date showing game speed is actually elite and they might know that they had a hamstring injury that limited their agility in the testing and know that on tape they are far more agile than they tested. On paper it will look like a non-Packers prospect but with the additional info; they could be a tier 1 Packers type. And those are just a couple examples. It’s always important to know what you don’t know.
@AndyHermanNFL Yeah we know, you say this like 10x in every episode of your show
@AndyHermanNFL Why are fans of other bloggers upset about pointing out the Packers having a type? It would be more concerning if the Packers DIDN’T have a type. They have been THE most successful team over the last 30 years.
@AndyHermanNFL Well said. We have no idea what will happen and it's fun to guess. We could trade up or trade down with any of our picks. That's part of the fun!
@AndyHermanNFL And with that watch the packers trade out of the 1st round 😂
@AndyHermanNFL You had me at the Star Wars reference...😂
