We (@sophcalderwang, Chiara Farronato, and I) just published a short piece about regulating short-term rentals, which also summarizes our research on the topic. TLDR; bans are bad. Read it here: hbr.org/2024/02/what-d…
@AndreyFradkin @sophcalderwang Hey @AndreyFradkin, wondering if you disclosed in your article and research about your former employment at @Airbnb? Do you still have stock? Did @Airbnb underwrite your research? #disclosure101 #conflictofinterestmuch? linkedin.com/in/andrey-frad…
@AndreyFradkin @sophcalderwang Congrats on the article. It provides a nice explanation of your multiple research papers in this area, and the careful consideration of the many tradeoffs, both positive and negative, of STR.
@AndreyFradkin @sophcalderwang This is an over simplistic conclusion. It’s disappointing you chose not to consider the many other negative externalities of short term rentals such as loss of community, increased crime, reduction in residents’ quality life & loopholes STRs create in sex offender registry laws.
@AndreyFradkin @sophcalderwang You literally are employed by airbnb
