Tracking downpours in Bennington and Windham Counties, pushing east. Coming into Brattleboro very soon.
Tracking downpours coming into Rutland, and surrounding towns, within the next hour.
Here comes the rain in the Champlain Valley.
It sure was a soaker in southern Vermont this morning! Lots of 1-2" rainfall totals over the past 24 hours. More rain to come this evening.
Most of us are stuck in the clouds, but the Adirondack Park is lucking out with some sun. Check out the view in Saranac Lake, where the temperature has popped to 67!
Over 130 lightning strikes in southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire within the past hour!
Tracking a thunderstorm passing over the CT River Valley (Springfield, Bellows Falls, Westminster) right now. This is heading east into New Hampshire.
The higher elevations of southern Vermont starting to see the first leaves pop! Ludlow, Mount Holly, Plymouth, and the base of Killington included.
The Adirondack Park starting to see the first leaves pop! Duane, Redford, Saranac Lake, and Lake Placid included.
So much summer-like warmth just to our south this afternoon. Close to 90 in Washington, D.C. and close to 80 in NYC! Much cooler here locally. Wind direction makes all the difference!
A couple rounds of showers and downpours will be likely Tuesday, both during the morning and again by the late afternoon/evening. By Tuesday night, northern areas could pick up over an inch of rain.
A few heavy downpours will be possible tomorrow morning (right around commute time) in northern New York and northern Vermont.
A chilly, raw feel out there this afternoon. Temps are stuck in the 40s to around 50 for most right now. Far southern VT is much milder... 63 in Brattleboro!
After a warm day Sunday, temperatures in the Champlain Valley will cool off a bit (close to average) the next few days. Another rebound into the low 70s will be possible late week.
There will be a decent amount of instabilty in the atmosphere this afternoon to fuel a few more thunderstorms. The more breaks of sun we can manage, the higher the potential for storms will be.
The next few hours look to be in good shape for Maple Fest in St. Albans. Can't rule out an isolated shower, but the next more widespread round of downpours and storms will hold off until late afternoon.
Noticing a weakening trend with this morning's thunderstorms. Mostly some leftover downpours and a few rumbles of thunder in central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom at this point. All of this will continue to track southeast.
