Shortly after this the late bar emerged as nightclubs remained restricted. Govt looked after pubs under the new licensing act (which was fair) but without helping nightclubs too. The industry has fallen from 522 to 85 nightclubs nationally since. And we're still in no man's land.

Good to watch tonight's council meeting responding to shortage of arts spaces after today's demo. The failure of Govt (primarily) and DCC to include arts/cultural infrastructure in the new built environment must be addressed too. Flimsy planning policies have let the city down

It's nice to know that Tamango nightclub is still intact (albeit probably not looking the same as this). It still gets used for events although a long-term use is still tbc as far as I know. Carpet clubs FTW by the way. I'd be unsurprised to see a mini-resurgence in the future!
