During #NationalVolunteerMonth, we are proud to announce Tanya Haslon Burton as Community Engagement Chair for the Mercer-Middlesex #Walk2EndAlz. She joined the Walk committee in honor of her mother, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2020. We are grateful for her leadership.

Heading into their seventh year of Beard vs Beans, the brothers’ impact continues to grow. They now host three events, including the yearly round of Beard vs Beans and two 5K/10K events. Since 2017, Beard vs Beans has raised nearly $170,000 for #TheLongestDay.
Their event, Beard vs Beans “was started with a brotherly shenanigan,” says Miguel. Each year, they put a new and fun punishment on the line for the brother who raises the least amount of funds. The first several rounds went to Beans, but Beard is making a comeback!
On #NationalSiblingsDay, we’re sharing the story of brothers, Matthew Skinner and Miguel Martinez, who have lost loved ones to Alzheimer’s. The brothers, who are also known as Beard & Beans turned their brotherly rivalry into a way to raise awareness & funds for #TheLongestDay.
