@thomasknox Two years ago we had a flash flood. I was enroute to pick up eldest as roads became unusable within seconds. My satnav gave amazing real-time telemetry, weaving me through the town on the only passable roads making me the only parent to arrive at the school gates. Amazed I was.

America functions as a huge pressure valve for Mexican discontent. Imagine the impact of 10 million military aged males returning suddenly to Mexico, with zero available jobs, and kidnapping, extortion, terrorization by the drug cartels. I would expect a rebellion or civil war.
