Anxiety. I realized a great deal of my anxiety came from demanding that life be: 1. Meaningful 2. Joyful Once I realized I was making demands of a universe that doesn’t care, I felt a lot of my anxiety melt away. Restated: 1. “Why does life need to be meaningful?” 2. “Why MUST it be joyful?” Answer: It doesn’t. It’s only a preference. But becoming aware of my demands made me more okay with the times they went unmet, just like a sunny and rainy day. I prefer sun, but I do not demand it. Said differently. I decided it was “okay” for me to accept my present rather than comparing it to a arbitrary ideal that I constantly fell short of. When I started doing this more regularly, my world got a lot quieter. Use if useful.
@AlexHormozi Have low expectations Keep pursuing goals
@AlexHormozi The universe is a giving place, but it owes you nothing.
@AlexHormozi Resonates. So freaking well put. I keep wondering inside if there'll ever be anything I could contribute to your world Alex - and to be honest, I don't know what that would be. So for now, I'll keep using & appreciating what you contribute to mine.
@AlexHormozi Attaching meaning is such a human thing to do , The choice in itself is ours It is what it is Probably Entertainment
@AlexHormozi This is helpful, removing the demand makes a lot of difference.
@AlexHormozi Great insight and explanation! Life happens as it happens.
@AlexHormozi This is something that I learnt from The Subtle Art Of Not Giving a Fuck You can't demand a life of only roses, that doesn't exist. No matter if you get everything that the world offers, you'll still be miserable if you didn't earn that thing
