@Rainmaker1973 Judging from the size of the area, I think Americans would prefer airlines
@Ade68653898 @Rainmaker1973 People moving in Europe is mostly labour migration so they may plan a big vacation once a year, the countries are small and easy to get around. I'm seeing that people in the US travel far more casually, like to the family over holidays, tuition etc.
@Ade68653898 @Rainmaker1973 Most bigger cities aren't further away from each other than in Europe.
@Ade68653898 @Rainmaker1973 Europe: 10.530.000 km². USA: 9.834.000 km²
@Ade68653898 @Rainmaker1973 So do most Euros. No Euro would get on a train in Lisbon & ride to Poland...They would fly. Euro rail is best for in country city to city short travel as each country has it's own state run rail. Most crossing country borders requires switching to at border cities. It's a mess
@Ade68653898 @Rainmaker1973 Airlines are no good for 400 mile trips. HSR is the only solution that doesn't take all day leave you tired when you get there.
@Ade68653898 @Rainmaker1973 Nonwe would not. We prefer options, especially passenger trains. After visiting Japan, their train transportation system is the gold standard and should be adopted here in America.
@Ade68653898 @Rainmaker1973 No! The airplanes lobbied for no trains 🤷🏾 cmon now
@Ade68653898 @Rainmaker1973 As an exchange student, I travelled by train from Illinois to California stopping along the way. It was amazing. This was almost 30 years ago and I still think about how great it was. Americans should do it.
