माजी केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री तथा महाराष्ट्राचे माजी मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. शंकरराव चव्हाण साहेब यांच्या स्मृतिप्रीत्यर्थ सुरू करण्यात आलेल्या पहिल्या डॉ. शंकरराव चव्हाण जीवनगौरव पुरस्काराने रविवारी नांदेड येथे झालेल्या एका समारंभात मला सन्मानित करण्यात आले. ज्येष्ठ विधिज्ञ खा. उज्वल निकमजी यांच्या हस्ते,आणि खा. अशोकरावजी चव्हाण, राष्ट्रीय महिला आयोगाच्या अध्यक्षा विजया रहाटकरजी, आणि अनेक मान्यवरांच्या उपस्थितीत हा सोहळा झाला. हा क्षण माझ्यासाठी अत्यंत भावनिक आणि अविस्मरणीय ठरला. दूरदृष्टी, शिस्तप्रियता, कर्तव्यदक्षता आणि निष्कलंक सार्वजनिक जीवन यांचे प्रतीक असलेल्या तसेच मराठवाड्याच्या विकासाचे शिल्पकार म्हणून ओळखल्या जाणाऱ्या या थोर नेत्याच्या नावाने दिला जाणारा हा पुरस्कार मी अत्यंत नम्रतेने स्वीकारला. नांदेडकरांनी या कार्यक्रमाला उत्स्फूर्त प्रतिसाद देत प्रचंड गर्दी केली होती. डॉ. शंकरराव चव्हाण प्रेक्षागृह खचाखच भरले होते. कार्यक्रमाच्या प्रत्येक टप्प्यावर खा. अशोकरावजी चव्हाण यांचे सूक्ष्म नियोजन आणि बारकाईने केलेली व्यवस्था प्रकर्षाने जाणवत होती. खरे तर जीवनगौरव पुरस्कार हा आयुष्यभर केलेल्या कार्याचा सन्मान असतो. पत्रकारिता, राजकारण, समाजकारण आणि उद्योग या विविध क्षेत्रांत मी माझ्या परीने योगदान देण्याचा प्रयत्न केला आहे. मात्र, अजूनही बरेच काही करायचे आहे, अशीच माझी भावना आहे. हा सन्मान पुढील वाटचालीसाठी मला निश्चितच नवी ऊर्जा आणि प्रेरणा देईल. या गौरवाबद्दल अशोकरावजी चव्हाण आणि दैनिक सत्यप्रभा परिवाराचे आभार. #Nanded #ShankarraoChavan #award @AshokChavan1958
