@ANILAWHITNEY Nice to see the thistle, the national "flower" of my people. That said... mfn Harry Potter-ass money.
@ANILAWHITNEY I remember collecting farthings. Just imagine multiplying Pounds shillings and pence by Lbs and Ozs'?
@ANILAWHITNEY Errr.. yes, also as in ‘what a lovely pair of thrupennies’!
@ANILAWHITNEY I haven't. I wonder what three pence would have got you in 1941? Something...
@ANILAWHITNEY Good grief - how young and fresh out the box are you? (I’m only jealous x)
@ANILAWHITNEY No. (But I'm also an American. So, there is that. LOL!)
@ANILAWHITNEY They were common when I was younger. 4 to the shilling (12 pence) - it all made sense - 20 shillings to the pound. We pronounced it "Threpence", or "threpeny bit". They were not dark like the one shown, but a bright, light gold colour.
@ANILAWHITNEY Only every day for years, but I was born and raised in Scotland!🏴 Blessings! 🙏🏻 Jess.🌹
