Tony Khan was asked about airing the controversial All In footage and his answer makes a lot of storyline sense: - says that due to Brawl In, at one point the Young Bucks/FTR were slated to open the show, so that plus the stress of the situation affected their preparation - "We've seen the Young Bucks change a lot. We saw them get really dark during the retirement run of Sting. They've only gotten darker and more twisted. That's why they felt like they should play the tape." "It was fascinating to see after the tape played, the reaction Jack Perry🐐 got at New Japan. He got the reaction of a SUPERSTAR. That is not altogether unexpected and it's something very interesting, perhaps a side effect of this. Jack's already a big star in wrestling, really the way the crowd connected with him in Chicago, that was interesting. It leaves a lot of intrigue going into #AEWDynamite and #AEWDynasty."
One thing I really don’t like being a Dub fan is that they’re constantly being forced by a bad faith IWC to spoil the inner workings of stories being told. Not that any of what TK is saying is new to me, a viewer, but it detracts from the enjoyment to have to hear subtleties spelled out like this. And unfortunately “ignore it” doesn’t work.
@AIRGold_ They really could have got to the same story without showing the footage
@AIRGold_ Wait did he say Ladder match?!?! When did they make it a ladder match?!?!?
@AIRGold_ So…footage that has neither FTR or the Young Bucks….is shown to advance a story involving both? If YB want to allude they were distracted, fine (it’s dumb, but dumb w/in the world of wrestling logic)….the footage didn’t actually advance anything….
@AIRGold_ Why are they acting like wrestling matches results are not scripted. LOL it was decided that bucks would lose the match, so they wanted to gain the views through the footage but it backfired on them and now they are acting like because of the brawl they lost.
@AIRGold_ Eh it made no sense to release as it made Tony look like a joke for his recount of events
@AIRGold_ The fact AEW marks think this over says everything; when the bucks came out there was deathly silence except for the occasional CM Punk chat. It achieved the total sum of getting no one over, YB look like tools, FTR like dweebs and TK looking like a clown. Mind-boggling!
