Seeing too many mediocre businesses touted as the next big trade because they bolted on an AI narrative to weak fundamentals: low insider ownership, second- or third-tier products/services, sub-25% gross margins. Call a spade a spade. These are thematic trades, not investments. Can they 5-10x? Sure, anything's possible. But these profiles end in tears and bag holders far more often than they end in life-changing returns. A real 5-10x needs a lot of things to go right, and if I can't trust management, I'm not taking it past a swing. Otherwise, you're just praying the next guy buys your bag
