Recall what true American heroes did when confronting Nazi evil in WW2 In April 1945, after US forces liberated Buchenwald, Gen. George S. Patton forced 1,000 prominent citizens of nearby Weimar—who insisted they “knew nothing” about the camp five miles away—to march through it at gunpoint. They confronted piles of bodies, the crematorium, barracks of emaciated survivors, and evidence of systematic Nazi torture and murder. To create irrefutable official witnesses and prevent future denial, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower arranged for a bipartisan US Congressional delegation—including Senate Majority Leader Alben W. Barkley (D-KY), Sen. Kenneth S. Wherry (R-NE), Sen. Walter F. George (D-GA), and Rep. Edward V. Izac—to tour Buchenwald, Dachau, and Nordhausen (Mittelbau-Dora). Their eyewitness report to Congress (Senate Document No. 47, 79th Congress, May 1945) confirmed the “colossal scheme of extermination” targeting Jews and others. You just helped a lot of people realize that it’s not your ideological label but your actions that define your character, ideology, religious beliefs, and moral stance in society and life. You’re helping lift the veil of concealment on these false prophets that intend to lead the masses astray from the truth and their own well-being. In my opinion, at the end of the day, the axes are: God, or you make yourself into a god or demigod; freedom (free will) grounded on morals, ethics and the law, or totalitarianism in all its flavors; and choosing to be a builder or a destroyer. Next generation will be the judge of that, based on what we leave them: a better world or a worse one. Congratulations again.
