Even though it’s harder to diagnose adults with autism. It’s irresponsible to use your platform to tell people that it’s cost $10,000 to be clinically diagnosed when that’s not the case. Reason being, this may well deter people from getting the diagnosis needed.
@2RawTooReal As the article you posted below says—could be 5k for full formal diagnostic testing. It can cost even more by the time you finish other rule outs (epilepsy, learning delay, other NDs). The costs matter because it is one of the reasons Black and brown children get diagnosed later.
@2RawTooReal Thank you for posting this as it is around $1000 dollars for testing, as someone who administers the testing I can attest this fact...also Medicaid can be utilized as well as insurance (of course depending on your coverage)
@2RawTooReal As a marketer, it’s crucially important that information presented is researched. Communication is a 2-way process. Anyone who heard what she said has a duty to investigate and research. To shift all the responsibility in this instance to one party undermines the other.
@2RawTooReal You have no idea what it would cost her to have a diagnostic battery. It's also irresponsible of you to invalidate her experience. The truth is people have to find services that fit the resources they have.
@2RawTooReal I agree with you. And regardless of how much it costs she should not have said something that was not true. People out here defending her lie. Its not about the $ its about the lie.
@2RawTooReal First your doctor to recommend testing is the first threshold in trying to get a diagnosis. Your insurance is another threshold. Then scheduling the battery of tests, then finally getting the results The 10k maybe the cost for Amanda Seales. Not for everyone else.
