@kshep92 @1ovthafew In a few words, Date/Calendar is an inadequate model. It can’t cleanly represent the real world date/time/duration concepts, so as a developer you’d constantly stumble over its limits. All of this is solved by java.time

@1ovthafew It's a fair point. I am putting my business hat on, where such technical debts become a pain for developers and management overall. Ideally, once the specification completely removes such functionality and is communicated ahead of time,then we have no choice but to press forward.
That's excellent! There's no reason really to use the legacy date/time types of the JDK in this time and age. Them not being deprecated unfortunately leads to further usage even in new code, so that's a great step into the right direction.
