This morning I was privy to a conversation between people who were discussing their Long Covid. Heart problems Ear problems Metabolism problems Blood problems Nerve problems All six of them talked about how these had happened 'since the last time they were ill'. All of them meant Covid. None of them said the word. And none of them said Long Covid.
@1goodtern On a long covid reddit, we discussed whether we tell people "i have long covid." Someone said they choose to say "my health hasn't been the same since i had covid," as a way to possibly open the door. "Since i was sick" sounds like step zero of making the connection?...
@1goodtern What ear issues are people having??? My husband 😢
@1goodtern Hi Tern, would you share? x.com/annesmithmcc/s…

@1goodtern Authorities have significantly contributed to stigmatising chronic disease to the point that many people will not openly admit that they're not able to contribute to society as 'expected' by their peers - they've shaped attitudes to allow society to police/ shun the disabled 😕
@1goodtern @DebHolloway Denial. I will never stop telling my Covid story! It’s stolen too much of life since Dec19 to not warn people. I’ve decided if they dump me as a friend, it’s just another Covid loss. I’m grateful to find you here. 🫶
@1goodtern Are you able to assess whether they individually do know they were ill with CoViD? Is there any sign of them mending their ways as a result of repeated infections? Given that the connection is a lot more obvious & immediate than smoking, is it still too hard for humans to grok?
@1goodtern Anemia, Screaming Tinnitus, Hyponatremia, Dizziness, Drooping right eye. Yay!!
