Well, the Chinese products that I buy... don't break in 1 nanosecond! Sure, it's not the best in quality ... but it lasts (reasonable) well for the price... For example, I bought something couple of months ago, that had 160K positive reviews... you cannot buy 160,000 fake reviews! This product doubled the price just yesterday (in Amazon US) ... So let's wait and see what would happen ... Trump's assumption, is that this would be great opportunity for US producers to step in and fill in the gap. The problem, is that this takes YEARS... Also, its an assumption, that the Chinese won't do anything? like improving their quality and then (even after tariffs) their prices are still attractive to US consumers. This reminds me with Martial art videos on Youtube! 😀 They show you moves... but in reality... the attackers don't just stand still as they look like in the videos that teach you how to disarm an attacker! lol

First... sorry for your loss, and I hope you would recover your business soon! second... well, the narrative you've mentioned is all good in "theory" The shortest answer to this (and to MY theories as well) is that only time would tell!! You're assuming that Chinese won't do anything (e.g. like increasing the quality of their products, so you're no longer competing with crabs!) ... Now the American consumer would compare two "good quality" products... but one of them is a bit cheaper by couple of dollars (the Chinese after all tariffs) There are also other emerging competition ... you're assuming that Malaysians, Indians etc.. won't come forward to compete with the American producers ? Lastly... go on youtube and search for the Tim Cook's interview with Barack Obama... they were talking about bringing the factories back to America... and Cook's answer was its impossible! Look at Apple currently... frantically rushing to import ~2 million iphone devices from India 😂 They sell ~230 million iPhones annually... out of these around ~90 mil devices are sold to the US market... This is just one example!

oh! My numbers are accurate... but they are my own numbers (from a project I worked on a few years ago) ... We were trying to compare if we manufacture the same spatula inside the USA with the same features characteristics... and compared the same with factories from China ... The numbers we've got back then were very similar to what I mentioned (could be a couple of cents discrepancies, but that's all)

I don't know your sources... but I will go with your numbers... What about these 35% American sellers on amazon... Wouldn't this sharp decrease in their sales affect the tax that they would be paying to states and IRS ? I mean, you cut their business, AT LEAST by 50% umm, not worried much about the Chinese sellers... sure the US market was an easy to sell to... But think about it... the world's population is around 8.1 BILLION US population is like 350 millions... That's like 4% of the global population! Sure its a loss for those who sell to usa... but its waaaay easier & simpler than Trump is trying to show it off!

Not most people! and certainly not for most products! lol Of course, there are cheap quality that some prefer (to save on their already limited budget!) but now, there won't be other choices... American consumers would have to pay more (for the same cheap quality) OR not buy it from China at all. You think American producers seeing this opportunity will produce high quality products to their hungry markets?? 😂

The scenario you're describing... is currently a completely legal/lawful situation. If you're against that... no problem, you're entitled to have different opinions! But to allow/disallow ANYTHING... you need to actually pass it as a LAW... then it becomes "disallowed" (illegalized) Till then, your opinion (while granted) ... it belongs to here 🗑️
