The wave equation in spherical coords:
∇²Φ = (1/c²)∂²Φ/∂t²
drives these levitated droplets into pure l=3 & l=4 modes.
Watching a water drop morph into perfect triangular stars & quadrupolar symmetry at ultrasonic resonance is pure fluid poetry.
Before GPS, This System Guided Jets at Supersonic Speeds
Before modern GPS technology, pilots relied on advanced inertial navigation systems to fly at incredible supersonic speeds with precision. This 1960s engineering marvel used spinning gyroscopes and a stabilized platform to track position without satellites or radio signals.
It’s been a massive week for embodied AI foundation models: the pace of this field is truly staggering.
Throwing it back to the SimToolReal work by @kushalk_ and @tylerlum23 (Cornell & Stanford labs). In February, they achieved zero-shot tool manipulation across 24 tasks using a single RL policy and a robotic arm fitted with the SharpaWave hand.
Watching the robot nail these high-speed in-hand rotations is incredible. The precision is especially impressive when you consider the policy was never trained on these specific objects or tasks. This is what solving the manipulation bottleneck looks like. ⚡️
Ever wondered how a motor can spin without any wires actually touching the moving part?✍️
ε = -N (ΔΦ / Δt)
This is a Three-Phase Induction Motor. By using alternating current, it creates a rotating magnetic field that drags the non-magnetic rotor along via electromagnetic induction.
Since the aluminum only moves to oppose the changing field, you get high-efficiency, low-friction rotation used in everything from factory tech to EVs.

Robotics is no bullshit! 💩
I mean it, just look at these barn cleaning robots.
Lely Discovery Collector uses clever suction technology to manage manure on farms.
Cows are happier and healthier when barns are cleaner, producing better milk.
In this way, farmers can have a more hygienic farm. 🐄
Furthermore, it shows us how much agriculture can be automated, and how farms and barns can benefit from the robotics progress.
Using robotics in farming promotes sustainability and a better future for everyone.
It's amazing how smart machines like these can handle tough jobs and make farming much cleaner and modern!

Sony’s microsurgery robot features motion scaling (1/2–1/10), multi-jointed wrist-like instruments, and low-latency control. It integrates automatic instrument exchange, miniaturized tools, and 4K 3D imaging via OLED microdisplays, enabling precise manipulation of ~0.6 mm vessels with high stability and dexterity.

In house tactile sensor prototype. Detects taps, motion, and multiple contact with force magnitudes.
Built to be cheap, robust, and replaceable. Not in our demos yet, still WIP.
We pair simple tactile sensing with torque transparent joints to recover rich contact without expensive sensors.
It looks like silicon but it is actually aluminum shaped into a hexagon honeycomb structure called Alumi Honeycomb and it is already used in rockets and fighter jets for strong and lightweight designs 🚀
Imagine clothing that doubles as an exoskeleton.
Researchers have developed Electrofluidic Fiber Muscles; artificial muscle fibers that can be woven directly into any garment.
By integrating flexible, mm-scale pumps, these fibers eliminate the need for bulky compressors, using electric fields to move fluids at 15 W/kg power density.
The result is silent, vibration-free actuation for consumer wearables and soft robotics that are powerful, portable, and machine-washable.

3D printing ceramics without supports! 🤯
Researchers developed a method that lets you print unsupported, large-span ceramic structures.
For example things like torsion springs, cantilevers, and 3D bends, without needing support scaffolding during printing.
That’s huge because supports add time, waste, and can damage parts when removed.
The trick combines direct ink writing with near-infrared-assisted photopolymerization (tbh needed to look that up: process where light, often UV, triggers small molecules to link together).
During extrusion, a photosensitive ceramic slurry cures in situ under NIR light, solidifying as it’s deposited and keeping the shape stable even over long horizontal spans.
This lets ceramic filaments of different sizes, from sub-millimeter to millimeter scale, harden fast and hold shape mid-air.
Structures that would normally sag or collapse without supports now print reliably, with good surface quality and structural precision.
