Sixteen years ago today, Audrey Bomse, Mary Hughes Thompson, Hedy Epstein, and I were in the media office in Cyprus watching the Israeli navy begin shooting out the cameras on board the Mavi Marmara. It took a couple of days to find out they had murdered ten of the passengers on board the Mavi Marmara, as well as wounded over 70 on board the other six ships, some seriously. Sixteen years later, the flotilla movement has grown, but Israel's response is just short of murder. Instead, they raped, beat, and terrorized over 400 passengers on board their prison ships.
