@thesewcialist So, actually, there was a fire in Japan after an earthquake (Kanto quake) in 1923 that created a fire tornado. People that fled the quake congregated at a place they thought was safe and a 300' tall fire tornado killed over 43,000 people. It redefined terrifying for me.

@thesewcialist Welcome to the U.S.! We never do maintenance, most of the important infrastructure was built in the thirties. MOST. And not maintained since.
@thesewcialist Same for me, like I usually just tune out the fear because it is not so bad since I can tell myself it’s not rational, what the fuck will I tell my brain now though? It doesn’t help that I went to college in Baltimore and have been on that bridge before, many times 😱
