🚨New reporting reveals that Patrick Havas, the armed Republican from Canfield, Ohio — who was arrested Sunday after lunging towards Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton at the the Canfield Fair — is the brother of Republican operative and GOP donor Andrew Havas. He was carrying two pistols, a taser, and brass knuckles — though no weapons had yet been drawn from their holsters when he was subdued. Reporting from multiple journalists has since identified Havas’s brother as Andrew Havas, a Republican operative and registered Statehouse lobbyist who served as Franklin County campaign chair for Sen. Jon Husted until his resignation in July. That resignation followed NBC News reporting on a 2008 case in which Andrew Havas, then 22, was charged with s*xual misconduct involving a 15-year-old. He pleaded guilty in 2009 to a reduced misdemeanor assault charge and served only 90 days in jail. Because of course. Records show Andrew Havas has donated more than $10,000 to Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign, Acton’s Republican opponent in the governor’s race. Acton publicly criticized Ramaswamy over those donations in July.

Pierre Damas Bel was 20 years old. He was a Springfield High School honors graduate, a varsity soccer player and scholarship recipient who had just begun studying neuroscience at Wright State with plans to become a doctor. Weeks earlier, ICE strapped a GPS monitor to his ankle after his immigration protections were stripped away. Pierre wrote publicly about the “shame and humiliation” he felt wearing it. His father says he repeatedly asked ICE to remove it, was bullied over it and became increasingly distressed. On Monday, Pierre died in Clark County. His family says he took his own life.
