Five-year-old Reem Al-Sultan sustained serious injuries in an explosion, suffering shrapnel wounds to her left shoulder and a cervical spinal cord injury that resulted in quadriplegia and left her unable to move or use her limbs. During the famine in Gaza, she also suffered severe psychological distress that led her to bite and gnaw at her hands until the bones became exposed. Reem urgently needs to travel outside Gaza to receive specialized medical care, rehabilitation, and psychological support.
